Terry Teters
Drums
Terry began playing drums in the 6th grade. He played concert, marching and jazz band. The first song he learned on the trap set was Back in Black by ACDC. The first time Terry played live on the traps was at the Battlefield Mall in the 9th grade, his group played Centerfold by J Giles Band. His father was in the army so he moved around frequently during his childhood. They landed in Austin, Texas, where he finished up high school. In Austin, Terry kept time for a few bands, one named First Stryke. The band would play at the Rits on 6th Street and a few other venues back in the 80’s. Terry then joined the US Navy and served for six years. After his tour of duty ended, he pursued a degree in Nursing and helped raise a family, setting aside the trap set. Twelve years later, Terry was back at the kit. After moving around the country for a time he ended up in Fort Worth, Texas. He played for a very brief time with a band named Hollow Point and a few others before starting Sentinel Event. They played mainly hospital functions and worked on originals. He then moved back to Springfield about six years ago. Here in town, he was one of the founding members of Wheelhouse, but unfortunately was unable to continue in the project. They appear to be doing very well and he wishes them continued success. His influences are Neil Pert, Stewart Copeland, and Danny Carey. That brings him to now Blood Moon! Terry is honored to be working with such a talented, laid back, and cool group of musicians he calls family.
